Thames, a 66-minute English film with English subtitles, produced in 1986 and directed by William Raban, tells the history of the river by bringing together footage shot contemporaneously by Raban with 30 years’ worth of archival footage, glimpses of paintings, and a narration of texts that are more than 200 years old. Narrated by John Hurt, the film illustrates the natural and manmade changes along this river by comparing renditions of place made over centuries. A.M. Qattan Foundation.
